What is the difference between a Nursing Home and Residential Home Care Facility? Nursing Homes provide a more intensive level of care than a Residential Home Care Facility. Nursing Home residents usually have complex medical conditions that require interventions such as injections, feeding tubes or restraint. Nursing homes are required to have nurses around the clock who provide and supervise the care of their patients.
Does the Golden Age Care have Nurses on staff? Yes. We have Golden Age Care is owned and managed by a Registered Nurse. Licensee / Administrator and Register Nurse (RN) will also work with the resident's physician when minor illnesses or medication problems arise.
What are your staffing ratios? Golden Age Care is not like the typical institutionalized large population Nursing Home, where the ratio of Residents to Caregivers can be as high as 10-to-1. Instead, Golden Age Care provides 2-to-1 ratios, enabling all the Residents to receive extra special care while living in a warm, comfortable and roomy environment.

Does Golden Age Care take care of people with Dementia? We screen our residents carefully to make sure that we can provide the level of care that they need and that they will be a good "fit" with the other residents at Golden Age Care.
Do you provide transportation to and from appointments? Because of our small size, it is difficult for us to provide transportation for the residents. Only in certain special circumstances we can provide transportation. The cost of these services is not passed on to the family. In the event of an emergency we call 911.
Is it possible to have my own pictures on the wall in my room? We encourage residents to bring in articles of furniture and things from home such as pictures for the wall, counterpanes for their beds etc.
